This work continues the efforts of a joint Poverty Reduction Strategy Action Plan supported by the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County in 2012.

The Government of Ontario established the Expert Panel on Public Health (“Expert Panel") in January 2017. Their report, “Public Health within an Integrated Health System” was released on July 20, 2017.
