A fresh new clinic just for kids is opening its doors in Georgina on Tuesday, thanks to a partnership between the Georgina Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (GNPLC), the Northern York South Simcoe Ontario Health Team (NYSS OHT) and Southlake.

Now, families can bring their little ones, aged six months to 18 years, to a local spot for primary care — no referral needed.

Beth Cowper-Fung, clinic director at GNPLC, couldn’t be more thrilled. “The opening of this clinic is a significant step forward in improving access to health care in our region, ensuring families can get the care they need closer to home,” she said.

The clinic will handle a variety of non-urgent conditions, like colds, fevers and minor injuries, with easy booking through a central system.

“This partnership brings important health-care services right to the heart of Georgina,” said Gayle Seddon, Southlake’s executive director of community strategy and operations. Not only does it ease access for families, but it helps lighten the load on emergency rooms. “We’re proud to be part of this important partnership that will make health care more accessible for families in Georgina,” she said.
