New session available exclusively to AFHTO members FREE: The Halloween dinner was a fun idea but given we are starting to build relationships with a new government, we’ve decided to provide something AFHTO members need instead. We invite you to a government relations fireside chat at the end of the day on Wednesday, Oct. 24. We’re working with a government relations firm to facilitate an important converation on what you need to know to navigate these uncertain times and how you can promote the great work you’re doing in your teams to support the new government’s health agenda. Details are still being worked out but this very important session will help set the narrative around the importance of team-based care. We’ll still have hors d’oeuvres but now you can get them free of charge. If you’ve already registered, all you need to do is go to your confirmation email, click to change or update your registration and add the chat.
Expanding Care in the Community Update Join Kate Dewhirst (Kate Dewhirst Health Law), Ross Kirkconnell (ED, Guelph FHT), and Aasif Khakoo (ED, Mississauga Integrated Care Centre) to discuss topics including:
  • expanding services to patients regardless of physician affiliation
  • working with non-affiliated physicians, including data sharing
  • rostered vs. registered patients
And don’t forget to: 1.      Confirm your spot in your favourite concurrent sessions. Sessions are filling up fast and your personalised schedule is only guaranteed if you sign up by Oct. 1. 2.      Volunteer at the conference if you’d like a discount on registration. We have several options so contact info@afhto.ca for further details.
Also, attendance entitles certified Canadian College of Health Leaders members (CHE / Fellow) to 6.25 for Category II credits for conference and 1.5 Category II credits for pre-conference towards their maintenance of certification requirement. Other accreditation details will be updated as they are confirmed.

We look forward to seeing you at the AFHTO 2018 Conference!
