Objectives

META:PHI is excited to announce that we are inviting abstract submissions for our 2025 conference! This year’s conference will again be entirely virtual, with two days of interactive learning for clinicians, community workers, administrators, researchers, learners, community members, and advocates. The theme of this year’s conference is Substance use health is community health. We welcome abstract submissions in the following theme areas:

  • Innovations in care: Program initiatives or emerging research that addresses barriers to care and highlights novel approaches to care or current issues in substance use.
  • Care in specific settings: Approaches to caring for people who use substances in settings such as RAAM clinics, primary care, the emergency department, withdrawal management, mobile care, prison, inpatient units, or rural or remote communities.
  • Policy: Substance use–related policy issues, advocacy efforts, and education initiatives.
  • Clinical practice: Management of substance use challenges including concurrent mental and physical health issues.
  • Psychosocial care: Exploring a range of roles and therapy modalities in supporting people who use substances, including strategies to address stigma and incorporate the principles of trauma-informed care into substance use care settings.

Abstracts will be considered for inclusion in the following formats:

  • Workshops: 120-minute session, including at least 30 minutes of interactive content
  • Talks: 45-minute talk + 15-minute Q&A session
  • Snapshots: Brief 15-minute presentations on a care innovation, a research idea, or a case study
