Overview

  • Position Type: Temporary, Part-Time (20 hours per week)
  • Schedule: Monday (full day), Tuesday (morning), Wednesday (afternoon), Thursday (morning)

The Southlake Academic Family Health Team (SAFHT) is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team on a temporary, part-time basis. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive primary care within the full RPN scope of practice at our Mount Albert satellite office, with the possibility of working at our Newmarket, Bradford, or Aurora locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture/phlebotomy and collect blood samples for testing
  • Provide liquid nitrogen treatments, including for warts and skin tags
  • Conduct ear irrigation procedures
  • Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation)
  • Communicate with patients in person and by phone regarding care plans and follow-ups
  • Administer vaccinations and injections
  • Remove sutures and wound dressings as needed
  • Support quality improvement initiatives that enhance care delivery and patient outcomes
  • Assist with training and mentoring interdisciplinary learners rotating through the clinic
  • Perform other clinical duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in good standing
  • Experience in a primary care setting preferred (academic setting experience an asset)
  • Phlebotomy/venipuncture experience preferred
