We invite you to join us for Vax for the Future: Equity, Community and Trust, a virtual event showcasing the challenges as well as innovative, equitable approaches to overcoming vaccine hesitancy and distrust with marginalized populations on Wednesday, January 26, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to light deep-rooted social and health inequities that block a sustainable and just recovery for all. These barriers underscore how challenging it can be for members of vulnerable populations to access necessary health information and services, including COVID-19 vaccinations.

Community Health Centres and other comprehensive primary health care organizations across Ontario have modeled an equity-informed pandemic response. They have built on long-standing, trusted relationships to advance vaccine confidence in communities where there are long histories of medical distrust. They have listened deeply, responded meaningfully, and worked in partnership with their communities. In this way, they have developed and implemented solutions that meet the diverse needs of their priority populations in a wide variety of settings.

We invite primary care providers, health system leaders, policy influencers, and all those interested in equitable approaches to overcoming vaccine hesitancy and distrust in marginalized populations to join us for this this virtual event. Panelists will describe their innovative practices, discuss barriers and facilitators, and share the lessons they learned as they worked to increase vaccine confidence and uptake. Participants will come away with strategies for the current pandemic as well as for future immunization campaigns and health care services.

This event will feature predominately English-speaking presenters, with live French interpretation available.
