Webinar Series

Hosted by the Lung Health Foundation

Speakers include Drs. Dhenuka Radhakrishnan, Tom Kovesi, Ryan Smith, Dr. Waserman and Dr. Moraes

Asthma is one of most common chronic diseases in children. About one in four children and youth live with asthma in Ontario and asthma exacerbations remain one of the top reasons for hospitalizations in children and youth (CIHI, 2018). Primary and community care plays a critical role in managing asthma and ensuring children are diagnosed early and given the appropriate treatment in order to prevent exacerbations and hospitalizations. Gaps in knowledge and training regarding diagnosis, appropriate pharmacotherapy, management strategies, and tools available to assist with overall management, continue to exist. This Pediatric Asthma Webinar Series was developed to address some of these gaps. Each webinar will be presented by an expert in the field of pediatric respirology. This series includes six presentations that will equip primary care providers with the knowledge and tools they need to better manage asthma in children and youth in the community.
