8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

West Park Healthcare Centre 82 Buttonwood Ave.

Toronto ON Persons with acquired brain injury (ABI) can exhibit challenging behaviours such as agitation and aggression. Best practice requires behaviours to be assessed and treated in a systematic way. An effective approach to altering challenging behaviour involves identifying what precedes behaviour (antecedents), what maintains it (functions), and how we respond to it. At this workshop, attendees will enhance their understanding of:
  • Environmental influences/strategies to minimize challenging behaviour
  • Functions of behaviour
  • Mindful staff responses
